Singer-songwriter Eli Lieb left home at the age of twenty to pursue music in New York City. While he was in New York he started meeting with record labels and collaborating with other song writers. He released a debut solo album in 2011 and was soon featured in US Weekly, Out Magazine and other national publications.
After his father’s death in 2012 he put his music career on hold and moved back to Iowa to be with his family. While he was back home he began recording cover songs and posted them on YouTube, gaining a following. In 2013 he went to visit Los Angeles and ended up relocating. Since relocating to LA he has collaborated with artists including Cheyenne Jackson, Crystal Bowersox and Adam Lambert. Lieb is openly gay talks about it in his songs and music videos. He has also been practicing Transcendental Meditation since childhood and believes it allows him to “freely create the music that I am creating without any fear.”
Such an amazing talent! This video “Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball (Cover by Eli Lieb)” has hit over 4 million views. The first time Eli heard the song he was inspired to record a cover. He grabbed a lap dulcimer and recorded an acoustic version and posted it on YouTube. Within two hours of posting it online it went viral and was promoted in social media by singers Adam Lambert and Lucy Hale, and celebrities Rosie O’Donnell and Bob Harper.
“I think Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus is one of the more beautiful songs to come out in quite a while. It has so much emotion in it that I wanted to try a really stripped down version. I hope you enjoy it! Don’t forget to LIKE, FAVORITE, and leave me COMMENTS! I love your feedback and support is everything to me 🙂 Love you all!” – Eli
Eli has been working with producer John Feldmann (5 Seconds of Summer) on a full-length album. On July 15th, 2014 he released a song called “Zeppelin” that he collabed writer Simon Wilcox. He then release my favorite song (another song with Feldmann) titled “Lightning in a Bottle” (BELOW).
