In case you didn’t know how fashion works I’ll tell you. A little bit at least. Spring fashion trends actually come out before the first day of Spring believe it or not. So now is your time to plan for the trends coming up this season. You can make an investment by buying designer brands that start the trickle or wait for it to be passed down to your favorite mid brand or bargain brand. Here are five pieces you may want to add to your collection Spring 2015 that have been seen on the runway.
-
Stripes
The good thing about patterns is that you get to decide how you want to rock them. You can go with a classic v-neck striped t-shirt, add it on a button down to your professional work wear, go business casual with a striped short sleeve button down or just tease the trend with a pair of striped socks. Cashmere sweaters have also been big on stripes so you can try putting down the argyle for a while. Another option is to opt for your pin striped pants or try the new striped chinos that have been popping up for the last few seasons.
-
Denim
I know what you’re going to say. When is denim ever not in style? Everybody has those favorite jeans that they pull on every Friday and for sporting events but this season we’re going double denim. Rummage through your closet for your old denim jacket because it’s coming back. You can cut off the sleeves for a vest look and let your favorite shirt poke through. They have also shown a lot of denim blazers and we can’t forget the appeal of a chambray shirt now can we? If going double denim try to experiment with different colors and washes. This isn’t about being a one color, one style denim connoisseur from head to toe.
-
Red
Extra, extra red all about it! You have your favorite pieces you like to wear just try them in red this season. You can opt for a polo in red, t-shirt or get a cool statement jacket. Red shoes are also great for adding a pop of color to any outfit and who doesn’t love a pair of red chucks? If you’re feeling incredibly adventurous this season and want to step out from the norm then opt for a pair of red chinos or jeans. Red is a bold color though so my suggestion would be to make sure you’re pairing it with denim or neutral colors. Try to stay away from harsh red patterns!
-
Floral Print
Looking like a tourist is actually cool this season and just in time for you spring vacation. The pattern is big and muted. Opt for it in a short sleeve button down rather than a longer one. You can also a pop of floral with the pocket shirts that have been popular the last few years or on a snap back which are also still making the rounds this season. Find your favorite color and run with it.
-
Green and Blue
Not just green or just blue but we’ve seen a lot of green and blue together. Try not to make this trend with blue jeans and a green shirt. Go for some slacks in blue if you’re going that way. Or switch it the other way around. You can also go for shirts featuring both these colors. Let’s be honest as well green and blue are those two colors that just seem to work for every skin tone and eye color so you know you’ll be looking swell.
The good thing about getting dressed is that when it boils down to the idea of it you get to wear whatever you want. If you are somebody who like to look on point and aim for the trends of the season there is nothing wrong with that as well. So take some of our guidelines and run with it!
Happy shopping!
