SpiritDay started back in 2010 to help take a stand against bullying towards LGBT youth. We wear purple to show our support but it is not just about that, it is meant to raise awareness and start a conversation and educate about LGBT youth who are being bullied. Learn to notice the signs and help prevent bullying 365 days a year. GLADD offers Anti-Bullying Resource Kit on their website to help parents / kids / teachers ect. This guide shows you all of the ways you can get involved and help spread the word.
Where did the idea come from?
An amazing teenager, Brittany McMillan, wanted to remember those young people who lost their lives to suicide and to take a stand against bullying.
