Shaun Thompson was born and raised in Deptford, New Jersey on May 2nd, 1978 and grew up playing football, basketball and running track. Like most of us during our college / university years we gain weight. Shaun gained 50 pounds in his freshman year of college. The weight gain motivated him to learn about fitness and he ended up changing his course of study.

He started his career as a health and fitness specialist and later became a personal trainer and health program manager. At the age of 21 he began dancing, and later became an aerobics instructor as part of his Sports Science degree. He teamed up with a company called Beachbody back in 2009 after showing them his demo reel. They would later publish that demo as Insanity.

Shaunt T has been openly gay since October 2012 when he married his partner Scott Blokker.

Shaun T wanted to do something very special for his groom, and long time partner Scott, so he put on an hour long show with music, dancing, aerialists, and singers, to express how much he loves him. It warms my heart to watch these two together, and seeing how happy they truly are! The two were married in October 2012.
