Are you ready for a gay shirtless Nick Jonas? Jonas plays Boone, a member of the Dickie Dollar Scholars, and a gay character in the horror comedy, Scream Queens. The show aired on September 22nd, 2015 on FOX. He has a huge crush on his fraternity brother Chad Radwell, played by Glen Powell. The show premiered at the 2015 Comic-Con in San Diego and is based around how Kappa Kappa Tau sorority at Wallace University is involved in a series of murders. The show also stars Emma Roberts, Skyler Samuels, Lea Michele, Glen Powell and Jamie Lee Curtis who plays the the dean of the university.
Nick Jonas has been a huge supporter of the LGBT community and is glad he can play strong gay roles. This isn’t Jonas’ first gay role. He also played Nate Kulina in Kingdom, which first aired October 8, 2014 on the DirecTV Audience Network.
The show Kingdom is about a guy by the name of Alvey Kulina who runs a mixed martial art gym called Navy St. Gym in Venice, California. Jonas plays a fighter who specializes in wrestling and grappling. We learn that his biggest fight isn’t in the ring but his own struggle with his sexuality. In the season finale he was turned away from entering a gay bar when he was drunk, and finds solace in another man’s embrace.
He has gained over 15 lbs to play the role of a MMA fighter and says there is a lot of time and dedication that goes into maintaining his physique. He went from 3,000 calories to 4,200 calories and spends a lot of time in the gym. Season two premieres Wednesday, October 14th at 9 pm EST on the DirecTV Audience Network.
