Lucas Cruikshank is known for the character he created, Fred Figglehorn, and the Fred series on his YouTube channel. Fred is a fictional character who is a six-year-old with anger management issues. The first video was a success and he created a video series around the character back in April 2008. In one year he had over one million subscribers, becoming the first YouTube channel to reach one million. He later filmed a movie called Fred: The Movie that aired on Nickelodeon in September 2010. He later added two more movies under his belt and 20 11-minute mini episodes.

In a video on August 20, 2013, he publicly came out as gay, though his family and friends knew for years. Cruikshank did not feel the need to announce his sexuality online but when he did a Q & A with his BFF Jenny, the audience asked and he answered. At first he blushed but it wasn’t a big deal. He is comfortable with his sexuality!
Lucas Cruikshank has since been on shows like iCarly, Hanna Montana, The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, Monsters vs. Aliens and more. He won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Web Star in 2009 and has been nominated for four other awards.
