Jaason Simmons began his acting career playing Harry Tait in an Australia television series called Paradise Beach in 1993. He only appeared in one episode but it helped him land a role on the hit television show Baywatch. He played Logan Fowler Baywatch from 1994 to 1997 and was one of the Los Angeles County Lifeguards who patrol the beaches of Los Angeles County.
After he left Baywatch he landed roles in film, television and theater. He also returned to the stage and studied with renowned acting teacher Sanford Meisner, and appeared in several theater productions in London. He later appeared in Baywatch the Movie: Forbidden Paradise, Viper and This Is How the World Ends. In his latest movie he played Baz Hogan in Sharknado (2013), a disaster film about a freak cyclone that hits LA causing man-eating sharks to be scooped up in water spouts and flood the city. Jason has also worked on and co-hosted an Australian Environmental Documentary about our Oceans and how that impacts the consumer.
Jason Matthew Simmons was born in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia on July 12, 1970. Jason came out as gay in the March 2008 issue of Australian New Idea magazine with his fiancĂ© Irish actor John O’Callaghan. John O’Callaghan had adopted a son named Odin from Udanda in 2006. As you can see in the photos the two are great fathers!
