Sometimes dating online can be so confusing that you’re ready to give up! Using dating apps can be an adventure, but I’m here to tell you that it does work so long as you can navigate the sea of strange terminology you’re bound to encounter. With the help of YouTube gay dating app experts Max Emerson and Conor Donnelly we share common dating slang that appears in many dating bios and or messages and what that slang says about the guy. We present “Dating App Code Breaker”.
White Girl Emoji: You know what this means she’s showing up in leggings and ugg boots and you guys are going for Starbucks pumpkin spice latte #Basic
Up Arrow: This means they are a top. Pretty straight (haha) forward
Down Arrow: This means bottom… are you catching on yet?
Circle: This means reverse or switch… they’ll go top or bottom but if we’re being honest here then you know they are always going to be on bottom
M4M: They want to fuck with a man, all sex, no relationship although it’s not explicitly stated
Scene: This guy is a queen, an absolute diva (in the best way of course)
LTR: They are looking for a long term relationship… makes sure you’re looking for the same thing or you’ll be in for a whirlwind of headache
NSA: No string attached. Prepare your dick pics and no that you can fuck but it’s not going further than that in anyway PS. It’s absolutely plausible that they could be married
Discreet: Nobody knows their gay but they are taking their time online to experiment before coming out of the closet
DTF: They are DOWN TO FUCK often goes hand in hand with NSA but not explicitly
GTL: Gym, tan, laundry. If you ever watched an episode of Jersey Shore you know what this is. If not, just know that you’re looking at some brawns and not brain. They are waxed, accessorized and gelled to perfection.
SB: Sugar baby, they are looking for you to sell out some serious cash for public hangouts and sexual favors
Generous: Willing to help out the sugar babies
