The Oscars are known as the most luxurious, renowned and highly acquitted of all the award shows. The academy awards are the highest honor that a movie actor can receive. Being a host for this award show is always a great honor but because of the demanding requirements that go along with hosting the Oscars it’s never easy to choose a host.
Neil Patrick Harris has big footsteps to follow. The last two years comedian Ellen Degeneres knocked it out of the ball park but this year she refused to come back allegedly because of the stress of the demands and the scheduling. The guys who run the Academy Awards knew right away that they needed somebody new.
So, this year at the 87th Academy Awards we have the ever so popular and obviously hilarious Neil Patrick Harris!
It’s been said that the first choice was never to go with Neil Patrick Harris but we are definitely glad they did. The choices before him were Chris Rock (who just came out with his movie Top Five) and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Neil Patrick Harris is stoked about the opportunity to add a new hosting gig to his name- especially one that is so renowned!
What’s not to love about Neil Patrick Harris a host? He’s current and still relevant taking on new movies and acting jobs all the time. He’s funny and he proved this on How I Met Your Mother as well as the many comedy acting gigs he took on after that. He’s also a well rounded guy who is able to balance his family life with his work and has never had any major negative controversy.
We also know that he looks really good in a suit. So this year we’re pumped for the Oscars with our man crush Neil Patrick Harris hosting, a ton of great movies to watch and make our bids before it comes out and we can’t wait to hear the speeches and see everybody dressed in their best that night.
So stay in on February 22nd and prepare to have yourself a relaxing night full of suspense, glamour, good jokes and maybe.. just maybe (please) a musical number by Neil Patrick Harris.
