Shane Jenek is an Australian drag performer, reality TV show contestant and singer, and goes by the name of Courtney Act. Jenek has also been a contestant on Season One of the Idol of Australia and on Season 6 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, placing third.
Shane was born in Brisbane, Australia and has two siblings. When he turned 18 he moved to Sydney and a year long contract with Nickelodeon as a movie night host. He later created his alter ego Courtney Act. He auditioned for Australian Idol twice in two days. Once as Shane Jenek the first day and with no success he went home. He came back the next day as his alter ego Courtney Act and eventually became a semi-finalist. He was the third singer of the competition to release an official solo single at the time.
