Huge man crush this week on Christopher Robert “Chris” Evans, an American actor and film director. This Boston boy grew up with two sisters and a brother. His father was a dentist and his mother was a director of a youth theater. His brother, Scott Evans, plays police officer Oliver Fish on the ABC daytime soap opera One Life to Live.
Chris Evans has been acting since 1999 in movies such as Not Another Teen Movie, Fantastic Four, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sunshine, Captain America: The First Avenger, The Avengers, The Iceman, Thor: The Dark World, and the list goes on! His latest movie in 2015 was Avengers: Age of Ultron playing Steve Rogers / Captain America.
He originally turned down the roll of Captain America and later reconsidered. For Chris it was a huge commitment and a bit scary. He had never signed a deal this big before and he knew it would take up a large part of his life.
He is also a huge supporter of LGBT rights. His brother Scott is gay and Chris accidentally outed him while being interviewed for The Advocate. Chris supports marriage equality and is disappointed that in this day and age gay and lesbians are still unable to get married in most states.
“Are you kidding me? It’s insane that civil rights are being denied people in this day and age. It’s embarrassing, and it’s heartbreaking. It goes without saying that I’m completely in support of gay marriage. In 10 years we’ll be ashamed that this was an issue.”
